Search in Dendro works like other types of web search

Exact phrases, negative searches and broad searches

  • Use quotation marks to search for an exact phrase (e.g. "red car" will return notes containing "he had a red car", but not "his car was red", due to the order of words)
  • Use minus sign to exclude words from your search (e.g. "red -couch" will return "her coat was red", but not "she sat on the couch, wearing with a red coat")
  • Use plain text to return anything containing any word in your search (e.g. red car (with no quotation marks) will return "red house" and "purple car")

Filter your results

Additionally, you can use the dropdown filters to narrow your search results even further. These are especially useful when you are looking for something very specific:

Instead of searching "All content", you can restrict your search to "Sources only", "Notes only", or "Tasks only". Likewise, instead of "Updated any time", you can order results by "Recently updated (first)" or "Recently updated (last)".

Study your results

Sometimes you know that you have "some notes" on a topic, and want to quickly run through them.

After you search, you will see an orange Engage button, that you can use to create a special feed consisting only of the search results in the order they appear.

Unlike the normal search, this feed does not take scheduling into account. It simply shows you your search results one by one so that you can easily review them.
